The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will conduct the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 Examination 2026 as per the official date sheet given below. This article provides the complete ISC 2026 timetable, important exam-day directions for candidates, rules regarding unfair means, the last date for retaining answer scripts and the online recheck procedure.

ISC 2026 Result – Important Information

  • The ISC Class 12 Examination 2026 results will be declared in the months of April–May 2026.
  • The results will not be available from the CISCE office.
  • Students can check their results only on the official website www.cisce.org.
  • All candidates and staff present in the Examination Hall / Room will be under CCTV camera surveillance.

Important note: In addition to the time indicated for writing the paper, 15 minutes is given for reading the Question Paper. Reading time for papers starting at 2:00 P.M. begins at 1:45 P.M., and for papers starting at 9:00 A.M. it begins at 8:45 A.M. Candidates must be seated in the Examination Hall / Room by 1:30 P.M. for afternoon papers and by 8:30 A.M. for morning papers.

Directions to ISC 2026 Candidates

1. Dress Code

  • Candidates in regular attendance at school must wear the school uniform.
  • Other candidates should wear light-coloured clothes.

2. Items You Are Permitted to Carry

  • Admission Card issued by CISCE.
  • Stationery items: pens of blue/black ink, pencils, scale, eraser, sharpener, coloured pencils, drawing instruments and art material in a transparent pouch.

3. Items You Are NOT Permitted to Carry

  • Any textbook, photocopy of material, notes, slips of paper or memorandum book.
  • Smart watches, mobiles, earphones, wireless devices, cameras or any other electronic device that can be used for communication or internet access.
  • Wallets, currency notes, handbags.
  • Any sharp object or instrument which may be used as a weapon.

4. Reporting Time and General Conduct

  • Be seated in the Examination Hall / Room thirty minutes before the start of the paper.
  • You are not allowed to leave the Examination Hall / Room before the conclusion of the paper.
  • If an incorrect Question Paper is given to you, or a paper for which you are not registered, inform the Chief / Assistant Supervising Examiner immediately.

5. During the Examination

  • Use the 15-minute reading time only to read the question paper; do not start writing.
  • Do not write on the Question Paper or on the Admission Card.
  • Read the general instructions on the first page of the question paper carefully.
  • Do not waste time on information that is not asked; answer only what is required.
  • Attempt the required number of questions only, as mentioned in the Question Paper.
  • Write your Unique ID, Index Number and Subject clearly on the top sheet of the Main Answer Booklet and on all continuation sheets.
  • All entries must be made only in Black or Blue ink.
  • Sign on the top sheet in the space provided; do not scribble anywhere on the top sheet.
  • Write on both sides of each sheet unless the rubric prohibits it, keeping margins on both sides.
  • Write the number of each question clearly in the left margin and follow the same numbering system as in the Question Paper.
  • You may use a Casio fx-82 MS (or similar scientific calculator with basic functions only); calculators with memory or retrieval functions are not permitted.

6. After the Examination

  • Continuation booklets will be issued only after all pages of the Main Answer Booklet are used.
  • All working, including rough work, should be done in the answer booklet itself.
  • After the time is over, arrange answer scripts in sequence, attach continuation sheets, graphs and maps, and ensure that your Unique ID, Index Number and Subject are written on all of them.
  • Fasten all answer booklets together at the left-hand top corner and hand them over unfolded.

Use of Unfair Means – Important Rules

If the Awarding Committee is satisfied that a candidate has used unfair means or has received unauthorised help inside or outside the Examination Centre, the candidate is liable to have their results in the examination as a whole cancelled. Candidates found copying, helping others to copy, bringing in answer sheets, using electronic devices, impersonating or causing disturbance in the Examination Hall / Room may also be debarred from future examinations and reported to the Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, and in serious cases, to the Police.

Last Date for Retaining Answer Scripts

CISCE will not retain answer scripts of candidates for more than 60 days from the date of declaration of results. Answer scripts are destroyed after this period. Candidates should take note of this while planning for any future verification or recheck.

ISC 2026 Recheck Request – Online Process

  1. Candidates who are not satisfied with their result may apply online for recheck of answer scripts.
  2. The online recheck request must reach CISCE within four days from the day of declaration of ISC 2026 results.
  3. Recheck requests are submitted through the school or directly by candidates via the CISCE website, on payment of a fee per subject.
  4. Recheck is limited to verifying that:
    • all answers have been evaluated,
    • there is no mistake in totalling of marks, and
    • continuation sheets have been properly attached and marked.
  5. Recheck results will be declared online on www.cisce.org; date and time will be announced in advance.
