The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Notification on 31 October 2025. The online application process for the first session has started at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Eligible candidates can apply for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses for the academic session 2026-27.
The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It serves as a gateway for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other recognized technical institutions. It also acts as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the IITs.
The JEE (Main) 2026 will be conducted in two sessions — Session 1 in January 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026. Candidates can appear in either one or both sessions.

Note: For each subject, Section A will have Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will have questions whose answers are to be filled as numerical values. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers in both sections.
Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 through the online mode only at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
