CDS (II) 2025 Result Out: 9,085 Candidates Move to SSB Interviews

New Delhi, October 9, 2025: UPSC has declared the written result of the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) II, 2025, held on 14 September 2025. A total of 9,085 candidates have qualified for the next stage—SSB interviews for entry to the IMA, INA, AFA and OTA courses.

What this result means

  • Indian Military Academy (Dehradun): 161st (DE) Course, commencing July 2026.
  • Indian Naval Academy (Ezhimala): 
  • Air Force Academy (Hyderabad): Pre-Flying Training Course [220 F(P)] starting July 2026.
  • Officers Training Academy (Chennai) – Men: 124th SSC (NT) course, October 2026. 
  • Officers Training Academy (Chennai) – Women: 124th SSC (NT) course, October 2026.

Next steps for qualified candidates

Your candidature is provisional. You must submit original documents—date of birth, educational qualification, and NCC (if applicable)—to the respective Service Headquarters (not to UPSC). 

Document deadlines

  • IMA & INA: Submit originals by 01 July 2026.
  • AFA: Submit originals by 13 May 2026.
  • OTA (SSC courses): Submit originals by 01 October 2026.

If Army (IMA/OTA) was your first preference, register on joinindianarmy.nic.in to receive SSB call-up details. If already registered, do not register again.

Address change

Inform the concerned Army/Navy/Air HQ directly in case of any change of address.

UPSC has a Facilitation Counter near the Examination Hall Building, New Delhi. You can call on working days (10:00 AM–5:00 PM) for clarification. 

Where to find your roll number

The PDF lists the roll numbers of all qualified candidates under academy-wise headings (e.g., IMA, OTA Men/Women). Check your roll against the relevant list in the document.

1. When was the CDS 2 2025 written exam conducted?

The written examination for CDS (II) 2025 was held on 14th September 2025 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

2. How many candidates have qualified for the next stage?

A total of 9,085 candidates have qualified in the written test and are now eligible to appear for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews.

3. Which academies are included in CDS 2 2025?

Qualified candidates will appear for interviews for the following academies:

  • Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun – 161st (DE) Course (commencing July 2026)
  • Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala – Course starting July 2026

4. What are the next steps after qualifying the written test?

All qualified candidates will now appear for the SSB interview conducted by the respective Service Headquarters. Call letters and SSB details will be sent directly by the Army, Navy, or Air Force, depending on the candidate’s preference.

5. Do candidates need to send documents to UPSC?

No. Candidates should not send any documents to UPSC. They must send original certificates of date of birth, educational qualification, and NCC (if applicable) directly to the respective Service Headquarters before the specified deadline.

6. What are the document submission deadlines?

  • IMA & INA: 1st July 2026
  • AFA: 13th May 2026
  • OTA (Men & Women): 1st October 2026

7. How can candidates register for the SSB interview?

Candidates who have opted for Army (IMA/OTA) as their first choice must register on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in to receive SSB call-up details. Those already registered need not register again.

8. How to check if my roll number is qualified?

Download the official UPSC result PDF and use the search option (Ctrl + F) to find your roll number under the relevant academy heading.

9. How can I contact UPSC for clarification?

You can contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter on working days (10 AM to 5 PM) for any clarification regarding the CDS (II) 2025 result.

10. When will the marks be available?

The marks of all candidates will be uploaded on the official UPSC website within 15 days after the final OTA results are declared. The marks will remain available online for 30 days only.

11. What happens after clearing the SSB interview?

Those who clear both the SSB interview and medical examination will be considered for final selection based on merit, preference, and the number of vacancies available for each academy.

12. Is this result final?

No. The current CDS (II) 2025 result is provisional and based solely on the written exam. Final selection will depend on performance in SSB and medical tests.
