Previous Year Question (PYQs)

The total revenue (in Rs.) received by selling $x$ units of a certain product is given by: $R(x)=4x^2+10x+3$ What is the marginal revenue on selling $20$ such units?

Solution

Marginal revenue

$=\frac{dR}{dx}$

Differentiate:

$\frac{dR}{dx}=8x+10$

Now put $x=20$

$=8(20)+10$

$=160+10$

$=170$
